Our Mission

Novogamer is for people who want to write about games without needing a publication to let them.

There are editorial standards. We review submissions and we don't publish hit pieces or paid fluff. But writers run the show here, not a corporate editorial board.

Our Values

  1. 01

    Editorial Standards

We read everything before it goes live. If something needs work, we'll tell you what and why.

  2. 02

    Creator-Led

Your name's on your work and your voice stays yours. We don't rewrite your takes to chase clicks.

  3. 03

    Discovery

Content gets surfaced by quality and relevance, not engagement tricks. No secret sauce - you can see how it works.

FAQ

Who can publish on Novogamer?

+
Anyone can write and submit articles. Every submission still goes through editorial review before it gets published.

What kind of articles are accepted?

+
Reviews, guides, editorials, news, and other thoughtful gaming coverage are all welcome as long as they meet the site's quality standards. We do also accept other niche coverage such as movies or animes.

Do editors rewrite my work?

+
No. Editors review for quality, clarity, and standards, but the goal is to help you improve the piece while keeping your voice intact.

How do readers discover content?

+
Articles are surfaced through the game library, tags, follows, bookmarks, and site discovery features.

Can I get paid for my articles?

+
User-monetization is absolutely in the pipeline, but right now we do not have system in place for this. We do, however, have no issues with writers monetizing their work through other means provided it is clearly marked.

The developer

Novogamer was created by Mason (Hi), a full-stack developer and lifelong gamer.

The idea started during GamerGate. Gaming media felt broken, and the people actually playing games had no say in how it got covered. Novogamer was supposed to fix that - put independent writers and gamers in charge instead.

That was years ago. The site's still growing, still adding tools to make publishing easier and help good stuff find its audience.
